Construction is underway on the new 72-bed Women’s Re-entry Center, designed and engineered by SMRT. The Windham facility, which will provide supervised and community release, is designed to reduce recidivism. Landry/French Construction is building the 21,500 square foot center, which will provide pre-release preparation to women in the last years of their sentences, helping them transition successfully into the community. The center will offer specialty training in culinary arts, computer skills, and other classes, while offering areas for family visits with interior and exterior play areas, gardening, and fitness. The center is slated for occupancy in Spring 2017.
