The spring of 2017 will see the opening of a 38,000 square foot emergency department and medical office building at Holyoke Medical Center. Designed and engineered by SMRT, the new 22,000 square foot ED addition will double the size of the emergency department, housing 40 treatment spaces. The program includes 12 treatment bays in the crisis center for psychiatric services, patient trauma rooms and a central nurses’ station offering complete visual access to patient treatment areas. New programs, including weight loss, sleep apnea and additional physicians’ offices will be located on the second floor. G. Greene Construction is the construction manager.
